Empowering Indigenous Culture through Digital Inclusion

Empowering Indigenous Culture through Digital Inclusion

Case overview

Maison Creation undertook a transformative pro bono project, empowering an Indigenous tribe in Panama, Central America. Our mission was to preserve their vibrant heritage and facilitate digital inclusion, bridging the gap between tradition and technology. This endeavor was not just about creating a website; it was a cultural celebration and a testament to the power of inclusivity and understanding and also to instill a sense of pride and connection within the community, enabling them to share their traditions with the global audience and embrace the opportunities of the internet era.

The Brief

Our mission was twofold: first, to design a website that encapsulated the tribe’s unique culture, incorporating vibrant visuals and engaging content; and second, to implement a user-friendly booking system, enabling them to manage events and gatherings efficiently. The challenge lay in merging their centuries-old traditions with modern technology, fostering a seamless blend of heritage and innovation.

Our Approach

Maison Creation approached this project with sensitivity and cultural respect. Extensive research was conducted to understand the tribe’s customs, values, and artistic expressions. Design elements were carefully curated to reflect their heritage accurately, creating a visually appealing and culturally immersive website. Simultaneously, we developed a streamlined booking system, keeping simplicity at its core to ensure accessibility for all community members.

Respecting the tribe’s customs, Maison Creation curated a visually captivating website in three languages: English, Spanish, and German. The inclusion of German paid homage to their collaboration with the German Embassy, symbolizing the importance of international connections. The website not only showcased their heritage but also provided an accessible platform for global visitors.
